As the Covid 19 spectre continues to unfold, it is even more critical that we adhere to the CDC guidelines. Even if you do not fall into the “high risk”, or a “risk” category, please be vigilant. You don’t want to be responsible for transmitting this highly contagious virus to those ill-equipped to fight back. We are seeing emergencies only, due to the Governor’s mandate. An emergency consists of a situation that is painful and if untreated could result in a serious condition. As an example, denture sores do not generally qualify, as the discomfort can be easily remedied by removing the dentures and replacing them when needed i.e. during meals. If you are not sure of the classification of a problem, feel free to call and discuss your concerns.
Since we do not have many emergencies within our patient base, we have tried to group them on a selected day. We also try to schedule the initial visits on the hour, with sufficient space between them as to minimize the potential interfacing of patients with each other. If you should be scheduled for such a visit, it is very important to be on time, neither early nor late for the previously mentioned reasons. If this virus behaves as we have been informed, a few weeks of dedicated adherence to the CDC guidelines should have a dramatic effect. Thank you for exercising consideration and safety. Our best wishes to you and yours for continued safety and health.
We’ll get through this together!
